Atwood

Margaret Atwood, Oryx and Crake

Contemporary Canadian novelist Atwood has written three volumes of a loosely organized dystopian trilogy about the world in the aftermath of an environmental disaster. The Handmaid’s Tale (1986) was the first, describing the theocratic dictatorship that sprang up from the ruins of a poisoned world.  Now, decades later, Atwood has continued her original idea with Oryx and Crake (2003) and The Year of the Flood (2009).
